Retreats Gardening Service & Justice Arts

"Art is one way to grow soul. To grow soul is to grow compassion. To have compassion is to have the power to create justice." Anonymous

To participate in the arts is to participate in the transformation of self and world. This is why creativity as a spiritual path is part of the core mission of The Fields. The large art studio on the Vasa grounds would allow for multi-faceted arts experiences. Programming could include a monthly retreat that might include, "Poetry as Prayer," drumming workshops, paper and book making, painting, wood carving, and quilting. The Art Studio could be available for individual retreat users who want to work independently. Groups who come with their own programs could book the Studio for a hands-on component or ask one of our Arts Consultants to design an experiential component to complement the group process. We would like to welcome craft groups for their time away. We seek a partnership with the Red Wing Arts Association to feature the work of local artists in the house gallery space located in the first and second floor hallways. An Artist's Open House for each show would serve the local communities and increase the Field's client base. The Arts will be structured to potentially intersect every other area of our spiritual practice creating beauty to behold, inspiring courage to carry commitment into daily actions, and as a tool to build community.
